Chinese Government Scholarship

According to the agreement or plan reached between the Chinese government and foreign governments or international organizations, the Chinese Government Scholarships are provided by the Ministry of Education, and the China Scholarship Council (CSC) is entrusted to be specifically responsible for the Chinese Government Scholarships to study in China Enrollment of foreign students (hereinafter referred to as scholarship students) and management of daily affairs.

Chinese Government Scholarships are divided into undergraduate scholarships, postgraduate scholarships, doctoral scholarships, Chinese advanced scholarships, general advanced scholarships, and advanced advanced scholarships by student category, and are divided into Great Wall scholarships, outstanding student scholarships, and HSK winners Scholarships, short-term training programs for foreign Chinese teachers, and Chinese culture research programs.

Undergraduate scholarship: for applicants who apply for a bachelor's degree at a Chinese university, the period is generally 4 academic years (5 academic years for medical majors, etc.). Applicants should have an academic qualification equivalent to a Chinese high school graduation, excellent academic performance, and pass the Chinese university entrance examination or recommendation to be admitted by Chinese universities without examination, under the age of 25.

Master's degree scholarships: for applicants who apply to study for a master's degree at a Chinese university, for a period of 2-3 academic years. Applicants should have a bachelor's degree and excellent academic performance. Applicants outside China must be recommended by two professors or associate professors. Applicants in China should have been accepted by Chinese universities and are under 35 years of age.

Doctoral scholarship: for applicants who apply for a Ph.D. degree at a Chinese university for a period of 3 academic years. Applicants should have a master's degree and excellent academic performance. Applicants outside China must be recommended by two professors or associate professors. Applicants in China should have been accepted by Chinese universities and are under 40 years of age.

Scholarships for Chinese language advanced students: for non-Chinese majors who do not have a basic Chinese language and apply to study Chinese in China for a period of l-2 academic years. Applicants should have a degree equivalent to a Chinese high school graduation or above and be under 35 years of age.

Scholarship for ordinary students: it is provided to those who apply to study in China to study their original majors, and the term is l-2 academic years. Applicants should be students in the second year of college or above or have a degree equivalent to undergraduate graduation, and be under 45 years of age.

Scholarships for advanced students: for applicants who come to China to study and improve under the guidance of Chinese tutors on a certain topic, for a period of l-2 academic years. Applicants should have a degree equivalent to a Chinese master's degree or above, and recommended by two professors or associate professors, under the age of 50.

Applicants for the above-mentioned Chinese government scholarships should, in principle, have a corresponding level of Chinese (except for Chinese advanced students and those who apply for foreign languages as the language of instruction); those who do not meet the learning requirements for Chinese can arrange for Chinese tuition up to a maximum of 2 academic years Among them, the scholarship period for undergraduates, masters and doctoral students who need Chinese tuition is extended accordingly, and the time for Chinese tuition for advanced students is included in the prescribed scholarship period.

Great Wall Scholarship: Provided to UNESCO. The enrollment categories are general and advanced students. The targets, deadlines, and application conditions are the same as those for general and advanced scholarships.

Scholarships for outstanding students: to those who have completed their original study plan in China and obtained a master's or doctoral degree in that year and have excellent academic and academic excellence. The time limit and application conditions are the same as those for the master's degree scholarship and doctoral degree scholarship.

HSK Winner Scholarship: Provided to winners of the Chinese Proficiency Test (HSK) outside of China. The major for studying in China is Chinese for a period not exceeding one school year, and under the age of 40.

Short-term training program for foreign Chinese teachers: To support short-term training for foreign full-time Chinese teachers engaged in Chinese language teaching in China, the classroom teaching time is 4 weeks; another 2 weeks of free teaching travel can be voluntarily participated; applicants should have a bachelor degree or above, Continuously engaged in Chinese teaching for more than 3 years, under the age of 50.

Chinese Culture Research Project: To support foreign scholars engaged in Chinese culture research to come to China for a short period of time, under the guidance of Chinese tutors or to cooperate with Chinese scholars to carry out research for a period not exceeding 5 months. Applicants should have a doctorate degree or a position equivalent to an associate professor or higher, have published or published monographs or papers on Chinese language, culture, history, etc. The age is generally under 55 years old.

Scholarship content

1. Chinese government scholarships are divided into full scholarships and partial scholarships.

2. The full scholarship content of the Chinese government is as follows:

Free of registration fee, tuition fee, experiment fee, internship fee, basic textbook fee and accommodation fee;

Provide public medical services equivalent to Chinese students;

Provide scholarship living expenses and one-time resettlement subsidies;

Provide train hard seat tickets from the city of entry port to the city of the school, the city of the Chinese language tutoring college to the city of the professional college at the time of admission, and the city of the school to the exit port city at the time of graduation (hard sleeper ticket when taking the overnight train)

In principle, the international travel expenses of scholarship students shall be borne by the sending party. If there is another agreement, the agreement shall be followed.

3. The living standards of scholarships and one-time resettlement subsidies are as follows:

Undergraduate scholarship living expenses: 800 yuan per person per month

Master's degree scholarship living expenses: RMB 1100 per person per month

Doctoral scholarship living expenses: RMB 1400 per person per month

Chinese scholarship scholarship living expenses: 800 yuan per person per month (one person with a college degree or above is 1100 yuan per person per month)

General scholarship scholarship living expenses: RMB 1100 per person per month

Senior scholarship scholarship living expenses: 1400 yuan per person per month

For the above-mentioned scholarship students, the one-year resettlement subsidy will be paid at the time of enrollment of 600 yuan; the one-time resettlement subsidy will be paid at the time of enrollment, 300 yuan.

Great Wall Scholarship: The same treatment as the full-time scholarship for advanced students or the scholarship for advanced students.

Scholarships for outstanding students: the same as the full scholarship for master's degree or doctoral degree.

HSK Winner Scholarship: The same treatment as the full scholarship for Chinese advanced students.

Chinese cultural research projects: registration fees, research fees, accommodation fees, and emergency medical fees are exempted, and a monthly research subsidy of RMB 3,000 is provided. A one-time book reference fee of RMB 750 and academic travel subsidy of RMB 1,000 are provided.

Short-term training programs for foreign Chinese teachers: registration fees, tuition fees, accommodation fees and emergency medical fees are exempted, and a one-time living subsidy fee of 2,000 yuan is provided; travelers who participate in group teaching are exempt from accommodation fees and transportation fees, and another 650 yuan Subsidies for meals. The Chinese government will adjust the scholarship standard from time to time.
