The Daqili Dahua Buddhist Sutra Model School is a privately-run school under the leadership of the Dahua Hall and founded by local overseas Chinese leaders, overseas Chinese, and overseas Chinese.
On April 3, 1996, the leaders of the first Dahua Board of Directors coordinated with local government officials in Dachili, led the establishment of a preparatory committee, and decided to build a Guanyin Temple, a Chinese school. Completed in March 1998. At the beginning of the school, there were more than 200 students and 8 teachers. The teaching materials used were traditional Chinese textbooks compiled by the National Compilation Museum of Taiwan; Of nine-year compulsory education textbooks.
Through the hard work of the previous Dahua Board of Directors and the school, the Daqili Dahua Buddhist Sutra Model School has gradually developed and grown. So far, the school has a total of 82 teachers, including 4 Chinese Overseas Chinese Office teachers and 8 Chinese volunteer teachers. The school has a total of 60 teaching classes and 2150 students.
The school forms a complete school from kindergarten to high school: 2-year early childhood education, 6-year elementary school education, 3-year junior high school education and 3-year high school education as a whole; a half-day with teaching Chinese as the main content Education with academic qualifications; mainly local children of Chinese descent, all school-age children and adolescents of all ethnic groups who are willing to go to school to study Chinese are the enrollment targets of the school; it is a public welfare education service organized by social groups.
In May 2015, the school won the reputation of "Chinese Language Education Demonstration School" and was approved as the "International Chinese Proficiency Test Test Center." In order to improve the students' Chinese proficiency, the school took advantage of the situation and implemented the international Chinese proficiency test pass requirements: elementary school, junior high school, and high school graduation reached the standards of HSK4, 5, and 6 respectively.
Since September 2016, the school has sent 29 senior high school graduates to exchange studies in Honghe College in Yunnan, Xiamen University of Technology in China, Huaqiao University in Xiamen, and Southwest University of Political Science and Law in Chongqing, China.
