The Central Fire School of Myanmar is located in Pyin Oo Lwin City, Mandalay Province. The first Chinese language teaching started on June 3, 2019. There are 23 adult firemen from the fire brigades of all parts of Myanmar. The Chinese class has 30 lessons per week, and there are two hours of self-study in the classroom every night. The textbook is a series of textbooks developed by Beijing Language and Culture University. The subjects are divided into five: listening class, reading class, grammar class, writing class and speaking class. When the Chinese class was launched, the school expected that the students would reach HSK level 3 or 4 in the Chinese Proficiency Test in December and reach HSK level 5 in May of the following year. In the exam on December 1, 2019, 23 of the three students all tested HSK level 3, with a pass rate of 100%, and level 4 with 18 students, a rate of 70%. The first Chinese class will graduate in mid-May 2020.
